I'm from Cleveland, Ohio.
What's the worst restaurant in Amherst?
Amber Waves. I'm not a big fan of the Asian-fusion thing. It's diluted. I like purity when I go out to eat. Not down with pan-Asian food.
What about Taco Bell?
I love Taco Bell. I just want to say, people who criticize it for not being Mexican food, for being fake ... that's not the point. They can call it whatever they want, but it's still great food.
What was the best vacation you ever took?
Argentina, when I was 13 years old. It wasn't so much anything remarkably new, because I'm Argentine and used to go there virtually every summer. I remember going to Buenos Aires, walking down the streets and feeling at home.
Have you ever stalked someone you had a thing for?
I wouldn't say stalked so much as carefully and artfully followed. I just, um, found lots of excuses to say hello.
Do you think your family would be good sitcom material?
In some ways, yeah. Like in "I Love Lucy" when Ricky's always yelling in Spanish? When my mom gets angry she speaks with a really heavy Spanish accent and yells at us really fast. It would be like "Drew Carey," only in Spanish.
What do you think of Alicia Silverstone?
The last I saw of her was in "Clueless." I thought she was hot at the time.
If you could add a department to Amherst, what would it be?
I would add a department of geography. I think it's an unrepresented subject, people throw it off as if it's something you do in 5th grade, looking at maps and memorizing states. I would do it focusing more on geopolitics, the relations between climate and behavior, things like that. I mean, what's up with geology? They have, what, how many majors a year? The fact that they're building a new building seems strange.
In what ways do you think you would have been different had you been born 30 years ago?
Well, in terms of the war, I think for college kids, at least 30 years ago, that type of thing would affect us a lot more. I feel like before, that type of public demonstration made a difference. Now it's just kind of an empty thing. I wish it had more of an effect, it's kind of sad.
Would you like to have a twin?
No.
Is it an aspiration of yours to have a grand effect on society?
As long as I can, you know, change things to the point of where a decent amount of people have enough to eat, a little more safety and security in their lives, I'd be happy. People don't necessarily need sweeping ideologies, just enough to eat.
Would you rather have a bundle of cash, or twice the value of cash in travel money?
Money for traveling, definitely. What better way to spend money?
Have you ever been to Gerety's house?
Never.
Do you want to go?
Yes.
