Editor's DVD Pick of the Week
For those of you who missed Jack Black¹s ³School of Rock² the first time around, now¹s your chance to catch it on DVD. A funny-yet-touching comedy, ³School of Rock² finally gives Black a shining role, as screenwriter Mike White (who also wrote ³The Good Girl²) designed this movie with Black specifically in mind. After being kicked out of a band, Black vows to start his own rock band but ends up working as a substitute teacher at a prep school. He begins apathetically slouching through each day, but eventually realizes that he can form the students into a new rock band. The students‹who are played by real musicians‹are surprisingly talented and perform catchy tunes. The rest of the soundtrack is even better, with songs from classic rock singers and groups such as Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, AC/DC, The Who, Black Sabbath, Metallica and many others.
