the personals: questions for Vincent Curotto '05
By Angie J. Han, Managing Arts and Living
What are some of your guilty pleasures?

Talkin' antiques with Dave from the salad bar, Tod's driving loafers, Bea Arthur. ... Oh wait, you said guilty pleasures?

If you could travel to anywhere during anytime, where would you go?

Paris in the '20s and '30s. Does anything sound more desirable than ripping butts and boozing at a Parisian café with Fitzgerald, Hemingway, Joyce, Matisse and Picasso?

Do you have any nicknames? Where do they come from?

Vinny, Vincenzo, Guido and/or anything one might hear on or associate with an Olive Garden commercial.

How did you get involved in 3-D? Why is it important to you?

I was looking for an extracurricular activity that combined kickball with singing Broadway show tunes and the Hokey Pokey. My relationship with my 3-D buddy, Ben, was just a bonus.

Cab to Merlot.

What are you going to do with all your free time now that you're done with your thesis?

More talkin' antiques with Dave from the salad bar.

The Four Seasons in Boston.

How are New England and Virginia different?

What's your wildest drunken memory?

I was at a family gathering the summer before my sophomore year. I consumed a fifth of bourbon and challenged my grandmother to a cannonball contest. I haven't received a birthday card since, nor is my grandmother coming to graduation.

How do you feel about your impending graduation? Do you know what you're doing next year?

Banking in New York. Nobody from Amherst has done it, so I figured I could be the first.

Where did you live freshman year?

Stearns, second floor. I was fortunate to live with Josh Cherney ['05] and John Pourciau ['05]. (Insert cheap shot at Josh's hankering for organic foods and John's bad hygiene here.) I also began lifelong friendships with Aaron "The Mullet" Gregory ['05], Shell [Nina-Michelle Roberts '05] and her two friends (oh my how they've blossomed over the years), as well as Nikki Davidson ['05], Liz Braemer ['05] and Meg Sullivan ['05].
