Proper appreciation and enjoyment of a superhero film always requires some suspension of disbelief. A bad film is one that won't let you forget how silly it all is. The trailer for July's "Fantastic Four" is two minutes of dullness occasionally interrupted by moments that are so ridiculous it's hard to believe it's not supposed to be funny. The film seems sure to be an unpleasant experience for any filmgoer, but a sharp slap in the face to fans of the beloved Marvel superhero team. Director Tim Story must secretly hate comic books and their fans. There's no other reason for him to torture them this way.
