Surf or Ski?

I am Latin so I enjoy the beach and tropical weather. Although I have gotten really used to the snow and now get really hot and sweaty when I visit my grandparents in Guatemala.

Who are your favorite actor and actress?

Nic Cage has to be my favorite since he was awesome in "Face/Off," "Leaving Las Vegas," "About Schmidt," "City of Angels" and did a good job flippin' burgers in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." Besides, without Nic Cage we wouldn't have Johnny Depp since he discovered him. As far as females I love Monica Belucci and everything she has starred in.

What kind of music do you listen to?

I know it sounds clichéd, but I actually appreciate and collect all kinds of music. My father has an LP library in the garage and my mother wakes me up to music all the time when I'm home, so I am surrounded by the art always. However, I am always listening to the LA legends like 2Pac and Guns N' Roses. Actually, my neighbor says that Slash and Dizzy Reed lived in '87 in the house I live in now. Pretty cool, right?

Are there any television shows you follow?

"The Contender" is by far the greatest show on television right now. It is like "American Idol" but more gangsta. The show is down to the final eight so it should be getting even better. Any Amherst student can call me if they want to get filled in on what it's about. It's on every Sunday at 8 p.m. on NBC. Anyways, I also watch the classics like "I Love Lucy," "Saved By The Bell" and "Married with Children." You know the fun stuff?

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?

I would be turquoise because for some reason it makes me feel cool and fresh inside.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Well, I am very optimistic and innovative. The ladies are my weakness.

What was your favorite book growing up?

I enjoyed reading "Corduroy." You know the story of a bear that gets lost in the mall? I also loved the "Mr. Messy" book, which was part of the Roger Hargreaves series.

What is your favorite food at Valentine?

Chicken Cordon Bleu is ridiculously good. I also like our oatmeal with fruit and cinnamon in it. Mmmm-good stuff.

Do you have any pets?

Yeah, I have two Staffordshire Terriers a.k.a. pit bulls, but they are very gentle and love to sleep.

Do you have any siblings?

Yeah, I have two older brothers. One is named Olenin and the other is named Danny. My dad loved Russian novels so he named my oldest brother and his godsons after Russian heroes. My mom named me Christian but my dad chose my middle name, which you will only hear if you come to Commencement.

What are you going to miss most about the College?

I am going to miss interacting with all sorts of interesting people from all over the globe and from all walks of life. I also will miss learning and socializing all day since that's all we do here.

Where will you be in 10 years?

Hopefully in 10 years I will be an elected official somewhere in California.
