At the beginning of the Iraq war, Johnathan Wilson Hartgrove traveled to Baghdad with other Christian peacemakers, praying for an alternative to the violence of war. Wilson-Hartgrove will reflect on what peacemaking can look like in an age of global terror at his talk, titled "To Baghdad and Beyond: A Christian's Story of Peacemaking in a Violent World." Join Professor of Theater Studies at Tel Aviv University Freddie Rokem for his lecture, "Performance and Philosophy-A Dialogue?" He will focus on Walter Benjamin and Bertoit Brecht, specifically on letters between the philosophers and theater makers. Rokem is a translator, a dramaturg and a member of the executive committee of The International Federation for Theatre Research (IFTR). His book, "Performing History: Theatrical Representations of the Past in Contemporary Theatre" received the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) Prize for best book in theater studies for 2001.
