[I am] Director of Information Technology.
I get to work with really smart, dedicated people who cover everything, from new laws governing the way the College uses information to the impact of new technology on learning. We also spend a lot of time following trends in the telecommunication and entertainment industries. These are the type of things I spend all day learning about and on which I develop strategies for the College.
Where did you grow up?
New Jersey. Down at the shore.
What was your childhood like?
I have six siblings and about 25 cousins. Enough said.
What is your family like?
I am married and have a three-year-old son. I also have two vizslas [dogs].
What is your favorite place in the world?
Hmm. The Maine coast, New England forests or the Rocky Mountain ski slopes.
Who is your favorite musical artist/group?
Another hard one. Lyle Lovett, Gomez, Yoyo Ma doing Bach’s cello music? I’m conflicted.
Do you have a favorite Val meal?
I very rarely eat in Val. It’s probably been a couple of years.
How did you end up in Amherst?
My wife and I wanted to move back to New England and this position came open.
Who is one person you would love to meet?
I have no idea. Suggestions?
What is your favorite hobby or activity?
I’ve been getting into building dry stone walls from New England field stone. I hope to work my way into knowing how to actually do it.
