Five College Events

Dec. 9: Wailing Banshees Winter Concert, Smith College, 7:00 p.m.

The winter concert of the Wailing Banshees features music from Ireland, including jigs, reels and craic. This free musical event will take place in the Earle Recital Hall in Sage.

Dec. 10: Noche Latina, Mount Holyoke College, 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

La Unidad is hosting this event in the Chapin Auditorium of the Mary Wolley Hall, which will features a dancing show, spoken word, skits, a cultural dinner and an after-party. Attendance to this cultural night costs $7 for Five College students.

Dec. 11: MHC Tango hosts Global Milonga, Mount Holyoke College, 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

An international collaboration of Argentine Tango events organized in over 20 cities, the Global Milonga will be coming to the Chapin Auditorium of Mary Woolley Hall. This event features an instructive class for beginners at 5:00 p.m., a concert by the Pablo Aslan Quartet at 6:00 p.m. and social tangoing beginning at 7:00 p.m. All donations from the event will be going to Trees for the Future, which aims to plant 10,000 trees each year.

Dec. 11: Baldwin Band Bonanza, Smith College, 8:00 p.m.

In the Davis Center Ballroom on Prospect, live local bands including The Futurenows, Sleepstar Prjections and Disco Lemonade will be performing. Tickets are $3 for Five College students.

Dec. 13: Holiday Pops Concert, Smith College, 8:00 p.m.

The Smith College Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Chorus and Handbells will be playing holiday music in the Sweeney Concert Hall in Sage. This free event also features hot chocolate, an Ugly Holiday Sweater Contest and a surprise visitor.
