Website of the Week
By Nick Pedersen, Staff Writer
You probably spend hours on your computer each day-finding ways to personalize it can breathe life into its stern plastic keyboard and cold screen. And there is no better way to do so than by visiting www.soundresource.net. Here, you will find sound clips from 1,314 movies, 232 cartoons, 472 radio shows and 46 comics. The A section alone of the movies collection has everything from "Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit amphetamines" from "Airplane," to "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" from "Apocalypse Now," to "Name? Austin Danger Powers. Sex? Yes, please" from "Austin Powers." The music section has Beatles and Monty Python hits, among many others.

If there is a quote you heard in some sort of auditory or visual recording, it can probably be found here. And while the site's focus is clearly on digital amusement, it has a serious side to it as well. The "Quotes In History" Section, which includes an excerpt from MLK's "I have a dream" speech, shouldn't be overlooked. And in that refreshingly selfless and communal outlook so common on the Internet these days, this website provides you with a link to sixty other sound sites, in case you can't find what you want here.
