Many people have heard of the Darwin Awards, but few have visited their official website. This organization, whose purpose is to "salute the improvement of the human genome by honoring those who accidentally kill themselves in really stupid ways," has compiled all of the Darwin awards ever bestowed, and the results are darkly amusing.

One of the most recent awards was given to a man named Marco: "When his brakes failed while driving down a steep mountain road, Marco bailed out on his eight passengers and leapt from his Dodge van ... Marco struck his head on the pavement and died at the scene. No one else was injured." You can also learn about the man who, in a furious rage, threw his wife off the eighth floor of their apartment complex, only to see her land safely in some power lines below. What did he do? He jumped after her, of course, only he didn't land in the lines. She walked away unscathed; he died.
