My Little Ponies, GI Joe and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were our childhood playthings. Big Bird, New Kids on the Block and "Saved by the Bell's" Zach were our heroes. We had crimped hair and wore leggings and snap bracelets. We listened to cassettes, played Atari, jumped over Skip-Its and ate Tootsie Pops. The 80s produced children from all over the country who sung along to the theme songs from Nintendo games.
This website features all the cultural icons that defined the decade of our youth. After one visit, Duran Duran, "The Breakfast Club," "Diff'rent Strokes," Oliver North and a host of other long-forgotten-perhaps even repressed-memories will come screaming back. Top 10 lists, timelines, message boards, games and quizzes are among the highlights.
After checking out the comprehensive lists on this website, go to http://www.megsplace.com/TimeWarp/child.html, a site dedicated to "You know you were born in the 80s if…" It has a funny list of songs, movies, slogans, characters and other culture that only 80s children would know.
