A fire alarm activated at Babbott House due to burnt toast.

1:25 a.m., Humphries House

Officers received a complaint of a loud party at Humphries.

5:30 a.m., Alumni Gym

A fire alarm activated several times at the Alumni Gym due to a malfunctioning detector.

10:20 a.m., Drew House

Officers discovered a broken window in the common room of Drew House.

September 30, 2001

2:32 a.m., Valentine Hall

Officers investigated a duress alarm at Valentine.

12:11 a.m., Plimpton House

A resident of Plimpton complained about a large group of people outside.

1:35 a.m., Garman House

A resident of Garman complained about loud people in the hallway.

2:23 a.m., Newport Lot

A UMass student reported a minor motor vehicle accident at Newport.

2:39 a.m., Stone Dormitory

An officer investigated a "hang-up" call that was received on the emergency line and found that it was initiated from a suite in Stone.

2:40 a.m., Valentine

Officers responded to check on the well-being of an intoxicated student at Valentine.

2:40 a.m., Moore Dormitory

Officers dispatched ACEMS to Moore to assist an intoxicated student.

3:13a.m., Pratt Dormitory

Officers dispatched ACEMS to Pratt to assist an intoxicated visitor.

3:44 a.m., Crossett Dormitory

Officers dispatched ACEMS and an ambulance to Crossett to investigate a report of an unconscious intoxicated man.

3:50 a.m.

A student reported that another student was using his vehicle without authority. It was discovered that the student using the car had been arrested by the Amherst police for operating under the influence and that the car had been towed.

4:20 p.m., Pond Dormitory

A fire alarm activated at Pond when a lit candle burned down and began burning the candle holder. Officers fined the resident $125.
