September 22, 2002

12:23 a.m., James Hall: An officer investigated a duress alarm.

12:28 a.m., Crossett Dormitory: An officer passing by observed two students urinating on the dumpster near the building. He fined the students $100 each for the offensive behavior.

1:18 a.m., Pond Dormitory: An officer checking the dorm found an unlicensed keg in the basement common room. He fined one student $100.

1:35 a.m., Valentine Hall: An officer investigated a duress alarm.

1:49 a.m., Stone Dormitory: An officer responding to a lockout request discovered an unlicensed keg in the common room. He fined residents $25 each.

2:22 a.m., Appleton Hall: Campus Police dispatched ACEMS to assist an intoxicated student.

2:40 a.m., James: An officer responded to a loud music complaint on the third floor.

3:38 a.m., Cohan Dormitory: Campus Police dispatched ACEMS and an ambulance to assist an intoxicated student.

4:24 a.m., South College: Campus Police dispatched ACEMS to assist an intoxicated student.

4:38 p.m., Snell Street: An employee reported that a fire extinguisher was thrown through a window at a College-owned house.

5:39 p.m., Seeley Mudd: A second-floor smoke detector activated a fire alarm at Seeley Mudd for an unknown reason.

5:55 p.m., Valentine: An officer responded to a complaint about a man soliciting for a credit card company near Valentine. The officer informed the man that he needed prior authorization and asked him to leave.

September 23, 2002

11:11 a.m., Cohan: An employee reported that an unfamiliar man was trying to get into the building without an access code. When an officer approached the man he ran across Rt. 9 and into Valentine. A short time later he was seen running from Valentine towards Drew House. Campus Police then received a call from a resident of Cohan who stated that she had let him into the building. Officers monitored all doors to the building while two officers did a room-by-room check, but they were unable to find the man.

2:35 p.m., Fayerweather Hall: Campus Police dispatched an ambulance and an officer for a medical emergency.

September 24, 2002

4:15 a.m., Hills Parking Lot: An officer on patrol heard a car alarm sounding in the lot. After subsequent investigation he found that four cars had been broken into. Campus Police contacted the owners and discovered that someone had stolen CD players from three of the vehicles.

2:24 p.m., Converse Hall: An officer responded to a complaint of two people skateboarding near Converse.

7:51 p.m., Stone: An officer discovered an unlicensed keg in a first-floor suite. The officer fined the student $100.

September 25, 2002

12:44 a.m., Stearns Hall: An officer responded to a loud noise complaint on the fourth floor.

4:49 a.m., Drew House: Officers responded to a second-floor smoke detector that was activated for an unknown reason. Campus Police received another alarm at 7:30 a.m. They notified the Physical Plant for repair.

10:41 a.m., Keefe Campus Center: An employee reported the theft of a Sanyo multimedia projector from the basement projection booth.

September 26, 2002

2:11 p.m.: An employee reported being involved in a motor vehicle accident off campus with a college-owned vehicle.

9:45 p.m., Seligman House: A resident reported the odor of incense or marijuana on the first floor. An officer did a walk through and spoke to several students, but found no unlawful activity.

11:20 p.m., Valentine: An officer responded to a loud party complaint on the second floor. The officer shut down the party and confiscated some alcohol.

September 28, 2002

8:53 a.m., Valentine: Campus Police towed a vehicle that was blocking the loading dock.

9:22 p.m., Hamilton House: Amherst Police reported observing a keg being carried into Hamilton. The responding officer located the keg in a first-floor common room and fined residents $100.

11:00 p.m., Stearns: An officer investigated a duress alarm.

September 29, 2002

12:25 a.m., Mayo-Smith House: Officers responded to a noise complaint and cleared out a large gathering from the common room.

1:00 a.m., The Octagon: A passerby reported several people on the roof of the Octagon. The responding officer identified the individuals as students.

1:05 a.m., Hamilton: Campus Police dispatched ACEMS to assist an intoxicated student.

1:14 a.m., Appleton: Campus Police dispatched ACEMS to assist an intoxicated student.

1:46 a.m., Moore Dormitory: An officer investigated a duress alarm.

1:59 a.m., James: An officer responded to a loud music complaint on the second floor.

2:36 a.m., Stearns: Campus Police dispatched ACEMS and an ambulance to the fourth floor to assist an intoxicated student.

2:47 a.m., Crossett: An officer responded to a report of someone throwing furniture out a second-floor window in Crossett.

2:52 a.m., Davis Dormitory: Officers responded to a report of an assault near Davis. Officers met with two Hampshire College students who eventually decided not to pursue a complaint.

3:20 a.m., Stearns: An officer investigated a duress alarm.

10:02 a.m., Mayo-Smith: An officer discovered an unlicensed keg in the basement and fined residents $100.

3:27 p.m., Converse: Officer responded to a report that the UPS drop box near Converse had been vandalized.

4:50 p.m., Alumni Lot: An officer investigated a motor vehicle accident in the Alumni parking lot.
