January 27, 2004

1:50 a.m., Plimpton House: Excessive cigarette smoke on the second-floor hall activated a fire alarm. Officers fined residents $100.

8:34 a.m., Marsh House: Campus Police dispatched ACEMS to assist an ill student.

3:48 p.m.: An officer served a court summons to two students.

4:48 p.m., Converse Hall: An officer investigated a motor vehicle accident.

7:09 p.m., Valentine Hall: An officer responded to a report of students drinking alcoholic beverages on the mezzanine.

11:55 p.m., Plimpton: Officers shut down an unauthorized party. At 12:55 a.m., Campus Police received another complaint indicating that the party had started again. Officers returned to clear people out and discovered apparent drug use and drug paraphernalia in a third-floor room.

January 28, 2004

1:55 a.m., Moore Dormitory: Excessive cigarette smoke on the fourth floor activated a fire alarm. Officers fined residents $100.

2:05 a.m., Main Campus: Campus Police towed five vehicles parked in violation of the winter parking ban.

11:40 a.m., Life Sciences Building: Maintenance work activated a fire alarm.

9:15 p.m., Valentine: An apparent system malfunction activated a fire alarm.

4:20 a.m., Fayerweather Hall: Campus Police towed a vehicle parked in violation of the winter parking ban.

9:12 a.m., Keefe Campus Center: An officer investigated a motor vehicle accident.

January 30, 2004

1:50 a.m., Campus Center: Officers responded to a report that a student was causing a disturbance.

10:00 a.m.: An employee reported an act of suspected harassment.

10:41 a.m.: An employee reported receiving harassing telephone calls.

12:10 p.m., Cohan Dormitory: An officer investigated a duress alarm.

1:55 p.m.: A New York state resident reported information about a student at the College who was involved in a larceny.

January 31, 2004

12:15 a.m., Coolidge Dormitory: Officers responded to a noise complaint and shut down an unauthorized party.

12:39 a.m., Charles Drew House: Campus Police dispatched ACEMS to assist an intoxicated student.

1:02 a.m., Stone Dormitory: An officer responded to a motor vehicle accident.

2:20 a.m., Drew: A party monitor reported that an individual had smashed a window. An officer responded and identified the man, who was not a student at the College. The officer pursued restitution.

2:33 a.m., Hills Lot: An officer responded when a blue light emergency phone was activated. The officer investigated the area but found no problem.

2:36 a.m., Campus Center: An officer stopped a student who was taking beverages from an unlocked cooler.

2:42 a.m., Drew: An officer investigated a car alarm sounding in the parking lot.

3:04 a.m., Mayo-Smith House: An officer responded to a complaint of loud music on the third floor.

February 1, 2004

2:24 a.m., Seelye House: Officers responded to a complaint about a loud party in the common room.

2:48 a.m., James Dormitory: Campus Police dispatched ACEMS to assist an intoxicated student.

3:58 a.m.: Amherst Town Police requested assistance in dealing with a group of students who were suspected of smashing windows in a nearby house.

4:42 a.m., Mayo-Smith: Officers placed a student in protective custody and transported him to the Town lockup.

February 2, 2004

1:07 a.m., Crossett Dormitory: Campus Police dispatched ACEMS to assist an injured student.

February 4, 2004

11:15 a.m., Valentine: An officer investigated a duress alarm.

10:08 p.m., Appleton Hall: An officer investigated a duress alarm.

February 5, 2003

1:58 a.m., Moore: Officers responded to a complaint of loud noise on the third floor.

7:09 p.m., Alumni Gymnasium: Campus Police dispatched an ambulance and ACEMS to assist a woman allegedly passed out in the bathroom.

February 6, 2004

1:15 a.m., James: Officers responded to a complaint of people yelling in the second-floor hall.

12:21 p.m., Valentine: A student reported the theft of an EMS jacket and cell phone from the coat room.

3:15 p.m., Route 9: Two students reported that two different men in a vehicle accosted them while they were walking on separate occassions. Campus Police issued a campus-wide security alert.

February 7, 2004

12:15 a.m., Seligman House: The Amherst Town Police reported receiving a complaint about loud music. Campus Police notified party monitors. Campus Police received two additional complaints and shut down the party.

1:21 a.m., Taplin Dormitory: An officer responded to a complaint about a loud party.

3:00 a.m., Main Campus: Campus Police towed eight vehicles parked in violation of the winter parking ban.

6:50 p.m., Jenkins Dormitory: An officer on patrol found a man carrying a keg. The officer discovered that the man was not a student and confiscated the keg.

February 8, 2004

1:32 a.m., The Plaza: Campus Police dispatched ACEMS to assist a man allegedly passed out in the men's room.

1:55 a.m., Seelye: Campus Police dispatched ACEMS to assist an intoxicated student.

1:55 a.m., Seelye: Officers responded to a noise complaint and shut down a large party.
