KateLynn Palmer, a first-year student at Wellesley College, was found dead last Thursday in a wooded area on campus, according to The Boston Globe.

Palmer was last seen on Monday, April 19th by one of her roommates. She was reported missing on Wednesday, April 21st. Detectives are currently interviewing her friends and roommates to determine where she was directly before her disappearance.

"There were no signs of blunt trauma or that kind of injury. At this point, they're doing some further medical tests to see if they can ascertain what the cause of death was," David Traub, a spokesperson for the Norfolk District Attorney's office told The Globe.

Wellesley College President Diana Chapman Walsh sent a campus-wide e-mail to all students and faculty members shortly after Palmer was found.

According to the site, "Walsh wanted to make sure that people knew that the initial examination revealed no outward signs of foul play, to allay concerns they might have for their own safety" The Globe reported.

The Boston Herald reported that before coming to Wellesley, Palmer was an extraordinary student at Chico High School in Chico, Calif. She was also a notable clarinet player and a member of the San Francisco Youth Symphony.
