Bub's Player of the Year: Paul Whiting
By Sarah Rothbard, Managing Sports Editor
Paul Whiting often seems like he's just too good to be true:

talented, smart, kind-this kid is perfect through and through!

But what would Bub's be without some talk of athletic feats?

Whiting's had the lion's share between playing fields and track meets.

A starter at defensive back, he's made tackles in his time,

not to mention an interception at Williams-his play was just sublime.

He's not too bad at track, either, he runs and jumps with skill.

relays and the triple jump, Whiting's performance tends to thrill.

He leads the baseball team in stolen bases with nine to his name,

his winning run at NESCACs gave the Jeffs championship fame.

There's a lot to say about Whiting, he's a true student-athlete,

his 12 seasons at Amherst have really been quite the treat.

A Jeff like Whiting comes along only once in a long long while,

and with this salute Bub's says goodbye-class of 2004, go out in style!
