Five College News Brief: UMass-Amherst to host fifth annual Juniper Festival, a gathering of writers

The University of Massachusetts-Amherst will host the fifth annual Juniper Festival May 6-7. The Juniper Festival is a yearly gathering of writers, publishers, scholars and readers who join to give and hear readings and lectures.

The festival will focus on contemporary British writing. Readings and lectures will be given by a variety of authors, including Charles Simic, Simon Armitage, Mark Ford, James Wood and Zoe Heller, according to the site.

The University's Juniper Initiative is "dedicated to sustaining and encouraging projects that enrich our literary communities and diversify the opportunities open to students, writers and readers," according to the site.
