Class of '08 senators
There are two seats open for the class of 2008.
Adriana Fazzano
My focus as a senator will be two-fold. First and foremost, I will commit myself to encouraging all students to engage in community service. Many of us have done our part in giving back to the community; however, we can always do more. In addition, I plan to promote participation in club sports as well as devote my time to meeting their financial needs fairly. Club sports are essential to a large portion of the student body, and all students deserve the opportunity to explore their athletic interests.
Rohit Raj
Amherst's students desperately need resources. Experience in a research setting is key to competitiveness in the real world. As your senator, I will lobby the administration to sponsor more fellowships over off-semester periods. Moreover, the Career Center must alert us to more opportunities, hold more workshops and connect us with more Amherst alumni. Finally, we must host more guest lecturers, for their experiences lend us real-world insights unattainable at college. If elected, I will work to make these and other improvements you propose realities. Together, you and I can create more resources for ourselves and future generations of Amherst students.
Mike Donovan '08
My name is Mike Donovan and I am an LJST major here at Amherst. I am a midfielder on the men's lacrosse team and the RC on the first floor of James. I believe the AAS needs to have a greater presence on campus, which may be achieved by making information more accessible to the student body and developing more effective mediums for student feedback. My platform also includes improving the availability of courses including more flexibility in cross-listing; further advances in the advisor system; and the construction of an artificial turf athletic field.
Judiciary Council
The chair position on the Judiciary Council (JC) is open for elections.
Kevin Nattinger '08
Having served on the JC for the last semester, I am the natural choice for chair.
