12:29 a.m., Drew House
A Caller from Cohan reported the sound of a dog crying. Officers located the animal in a room at Drew. The resident, who was temporarily sitting the dog, was advised to remove it from campus.
3:21 p.m., Appleton Hall
An officer delivered a letter to a resident from the Dean’s office.
6:48 p.m., Newport House
A fire alarm was activated by cooking smoke. One resident was fined $100. ThesSystem was reset.

12:17 a.m., Crossett Hall
Officers responded to a complaint of loud music and loud people and shut down a small gathering in a first floor suite.
1:43 a.m., Moore Hall
Several residents of Moore called to report someone from the second floor yelling obscenities at two men walking by the building. The men were yelling back as well. All people involved were identified. The two men outside had no association with the College and they left the area as directed.
October 2, 2008
1:54 a.m., Pond Hall
A resident reported someone throwing beer cans against his window. The officers did not find such activity when they arrived.
3:23 a.m., Crossett
Officer responded to a complaint of loud music and issued a warning at a first floor suite.
8:23 a.m., Moore Hall
A vendor reported two vending machines in the basement were vandalized.
October 3, 2008
9:57 a.m., Valentine Hall
Officer responded to a complaint of the odor of marijuana on the second floor. The odor was traced to a specific room although the resident denied having smoked marijuana. While in the room, the officer discovered two smoke detectors were disconnected. The resident was fined $200 for the fire safety violation and a report was filed with the Dean’s office.
12:49 p.m.
A student reported the theft of a coat from an off campus location. His room keys were in a pocket.
11:15 p.m., Marsh House
Campus Police received a noise complaint and the Amherst Police reported receiving noise complaints. Officers responded and shut down a party.
October 4, 2008
12:39 a.m., Alumni Parking Lot
Officer checked on a man who was attempting to open a vehicle with a tool. It was discovered that he owned the vehicle and his keys were locked inside.
1:30 a.m., Stearns Hall
Officers responded to a report of three unwanted men in the building. They were located and identified. They were told to leave campus, which they did.
3:47 p.m., South Prosect St.
A delivery driver reported two intoxicated men in a car parked near Mayo Smith. Officers responded and notified the Amherst Police because the car was not parked on college property. The operator was arrested for DWI.
October 5, 2008
12:24 a.m., Social Dorm Quad
Officer encountered an underage student with a bottle of alcohol. It was confiscated and the matter referred to the Dean’s office.
12:30 a.m., Keefe Campus Center
A student was found with alcohol inside the building. He was of age but the alcohol was disposed of because it is not allowed inside.
1:10 a.m., Davis Hall
The fire alarm was activated by a smoke detector in a first floor suite for an unidentified reason. The system was reset. Officers also observed alcohol in plain view in the common room. It was confiscated as none of the residents were of legal age.
1:33 a.m., Crossett
An officer on patrol observed a smashed window in a first floor common room. Physical Plant was notified.
2:08 a.m., Campus Center Radio Station
Three men, who have no association with the station or the College, were found inside. The were issued trespass notices and directed off campus.
6:46 p.m., Converse Hall
A visitor reported the theft of a green Trek bicycle from the front of the building.
