It's been a long year. A really, really, really long year. But in keeping with the spirit of the upcoming holiday, we'd like to give thanks ...

We're thankful that Lord Jeffrey Amherst paved the way for the Fairest College-one smallpox-infected blanket at a time.

We're thankful that the cold war between campus publications and The Amherst Student has begun to thaw.

We're thankful that nobody embezzled money from us (as far as we know).

We're thankful that we have a fully staffed newspaper. (Finally.)

We're thankful that it's over.

And we're thankful that we are leaving The Student in such capable hands.

We wish the new staff the best of luck; after all, you've got some big shoes to fill. And make no mistake-we look forward to reading ... err, skimming The Student in search of the elusive typo and the occasional double space after periods.
