It’s refreshing to find an intelligent, conservative voice on the pages of The Student. Bailey Connor ’11’s recent piece in favor of Senator John McCain was one of the few op-eds I’ve read in this publication promoting conservative ideas and candidates. His criticisms of Senator Obama and his compliments for Senator McCain were intelligent, well-reasoned, and well written. As a liberal, I was impressed with his tenacity and courage to voice his opinions on a campus where a recent Student survey found suffocating support for Senator Obama. I hope for more op-eds like Bailey’s in the future pages of The Student.
