•Bowdoin College

Megan Greenleaf and Diann Wood will compete in the the United States Skiing Association Cross Country Junior Olympic Championships in Ishpeming, Mich. from Mar. 5-10. In addition to racing on the Polar Bear ski team's regular circuit, both have been practicing since mid-December.

•Tufts University

Jumbo alumnus Caitlin Murphy was one of eight qualifiers for the indoor track National finals in the 800m event. Murphy finished sixth with a time of 2:09.44. Before graduating Tufts in May of 2000, Murphy ran to two NCAA Indoor Track National Championships. Now, Murphy runs for Reebok Boston.

•Middlebury College

The Middlebury hockey teams swept their respective postseason tournaments this week. The women participated in the ECAC tournament, knocking off Williams College for the 3-2 win on Sunday. The men, meanwhile, met the Amherst lines at Middlebury in Saturday's NESCAC tournament final for the 4-3 OT win.

•Bates College

Women's basketball player Kate McLaughlin was named the NESCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year for her efforts during the 2000-2001 season. For the Bobcats, McLaughlin averaged 15.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, leading her team to a 7-2 conference record during the regular season.

•Colby College

Sam Clark was named the NESCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year. Clark, who earned Second Team All-NESCAC honors during the 1999-2000 White Mules campaign, led the conference with 20.4 points per game, to go along with 9.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game.
