Player of the Week: Lauren Peloquin
There's this pitcher, he's from Boston, and I've heard he's pretty dominant. He goes by the name of Pedro, and his ERA is prominent. What is it, 0.60? That's not too bad, for Beantown. But if Pedro wants to see some heat, maybe he should come to this town. There's another pitcher here at Amherst, and she also hails from Boston. And you can't tell just to look at her, but she hasn't lost even one. And how about this number? 0.11. No, that's not a typo, it's an ERA from heaven. Lauren has gone 9-0, with one earned run on the season. And so this week, this space is hers for a very convincing reason. And what other numbers can I throw out, that haven't already been said? Well here's one, 98 Ks, she's left opposing batters dead. She's a lethal combination, on the mound and at the plate; she gets it done on defense, and bats .342 to date. So head on down to Bub's Pel, and order up some fries. And tomorrow, against Trinity, watch them swing right through your rise.
