•Abby Ouimet '03

Ouimet, an attacker on the women's lacrosse squad, scored only five goals in limited action as a freshman last season but had a tremendous performance on Thursday, scoring six goals against Wellsley College. She began the scoring day for Amherst with the first goal of the game and followed up with two more in the half. She then scored another three in the final two periods to push the Jeffs over Wellesley 15-8.

•Ryan Whitmarsh '01

Whitmarsh, the powerful starting third baseman, was dominant last Saturday in a double-header against NESCAC rival Colby College. In the first game, Whitmarsh plated all of the Jeffs' runs with a three-run home run in the third inning. The pitching duel that ensued ensured the win for the Jeffs. In the night game, Whitmarsh also provided much of the offense going two-for-five for the night with an RBI.

•Eric Edelson '01

Edelson, a co-captain of the men's lacrosse team, continues to play well as the Jeffs have run up a 5-3 record. Last year Edelson tied for the team lead with 38 points, and this year he is on pace to lead the team again. Through eight games this season, Edelson has racked up 27 points on 10 goals and 17 assists. The Jeffs are currently 1-3 in the conference, and they play four NESCAC games in the next 11 days.

•Shari Sakamoto '01

Sakamoto, the starting shortstop on the women's softball team, was impressive last week in two wins against NESCAC rival Trinity College. In the nightcap, Sakamoto went three for four, with an RBI single in the eighth inning that sealed the 5-4 win for the Jeffs. In game two of a double-header against another NESCAC rival, Tufts University, Sakamoto scored a run and had a hit in a losing effort.
