Men's rugby pulls together, 35-12

Following a last-second win two Saturdays ago over the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, the men's rugby team returned to action on Saturday against the College of the Holy Cross. However, this match would not feature the dramatic and sloppy action of the UMass-Lowell match. The Jeffs pulled it together, despite the team's lack of experience, and notched a 35-12 win over the visitors from Worcester.

"We started slowly, due largely to our lack of experience," said Co-captain Bailey Williams '01. "But, we pulled together in the second half and we really ran away with the ball."

Dave Stasiak '03 made his mark as the offensive star for the Jeffs, scoring three times to push the squad over the top.

"I'm pleased overall," continued Williams. "But, I'd like to start out a little stronger next week." On Saturday, the team will travel to Western Connecticut State University, before their seasonal showdown with the Ephs at Williams College in two weekends.
