The men's team loses only two members and returns four of its top five from last year's squad, a team that finished second in the NESCAC Tournament last fall.
Captain Mike Blaisdell '02 will return to lead the Jeffs this season. Blaisdell turned in another solid season for the Jeffs, finishing near the top in all of the spring matches.
"If our top players can regain the consistency they have shown in the past, the team should be solid," said Head Coach Jack Arena.
Also returning to the team are Todd Ballaban '03, Steve Collins '03, John Frechette '02, Chris Norqual '04 and Jude Volek '03. Ballaban was named to the All-NESCAC team after finishing second in the conference tournament last fall.
Justin Sharaf '05 should challenge for one of the top spots this fall.
On the women's side, things look just as bright. Last year the Jeffs were a very young squad, with no seniors on the roster. Youth will again be served this fall.
Returning to lead the squad this fall will be Captain Jaime Ratner '02. Ratner was consistently a top finisher for the Jeffs, in both the fall and spring seasons.
While Ratner provided leadership to a young team, Kathryn Kuchefski '04 was the top performer for the Jeffs. Kuchefski burst onto the scene by pacing the Jeffs in her first intercollegiate match, and throughout the year she was the Jeffs' top golfer.
Also returning to the squad is a trio of juniors. Kasarin Chakkaphak '03, Katie Gravel '03 and Jeannie Limpert '03 were all important players in the Jeffs efforts.
In the fall the Jeffs scored their most important win of the season when they took down Williams College in the first dual match between the two schools. The Jeffs went to Williams' Taconic Country Club and trounced the Ephs, 355-371.
