Martha Nelson'03

Nelson, a runner on the cross-country team, finished in fifth overall at the Little III Championships, hosted by NESCAC and Little III rival Wesleyan University. Nelson finished with a time of 19:05, the second best Lord Jeff finish. The same level of performance will be necessary if the Jeffs are to succeed at the NESCAC Championships, where they will meet Wesleyan and Williams College.

Lee-Jay Henry '05

Henry, the phenomenonal striker on the women's soccer team, was pivotal in the Lord Jeffs' 3-1 victory over NESCAC rival Tufts University in Sunday's NESCAC tournament quarterfinals at Bates College. Henry scored two second-half goals within 69 seconds to give the Jeffs the win. The win was even more impressive considering the Jumbos were in the NESCAC Championship finals a year ago.

Carlo Valdesolo '03

Valdesolo gave the large Homecoming crowd something to cheer for in the 3-0 win against NESCAC and Little III rival Wesleyan University. Valdesolo adjusted easily to the striker position, assisting Franklin Perry '04 on one goal, then adding his own three minutes later. The important win improved the Lord Jeffs' record to 6-4-2 overall and 4-2-2 in NESCAC play with one conference game remaining.

Rachel Holt '05

Holt helped the women's tennis team clinch the New England Championships this past weekend as they took a close firstplace finish over NESCAC and Little III Williams College. She dominated in the singles matches, winning 7-5, 6-2 in the finals. In the third doubles slot, Holt and teammate Susanna Burke '03 took a 6-3, 6-1 win. The Jeffs finished with 43 team points, just two ahead of the Ephs.
