Look for sparks to fly when the Amherst men travel to Clark University this week to take on the team that ended their stellar season last year. A 16-2 Clark run late in the game brought the game into overtime. Don't be surprised if it happens again; last season, Amherst fans witnessed a triple overtime game that ended with a heartbreaking loss for the Jeffs. This season, the men's basketball team is looking to gain their third straight NCAA berth and improve on their record despite the loss of standout Brian Daoust '01. Look for power forward tri-captain Steve Zieja '03 to take the ball to the hoop a number of times, while teammate Ryan Faulker '03 calls the plays at point guard. The sophomore guard duo of Adam Harper '04 and John Donovan '04 should also be a powerful presence on the floor this season, although the Jeffs will miss the services of Harper for another couple of weeks due to a broken foot.
