Bub's Player of the Week: Pat Fitzsimons '03
LeFrak was buzzing on Friday night, when Rivier came in, just looking for a fight. It was the first game of the first Ken Wright, and when the Raiders saw Fitzy, their faces turned white. But it was too late, they couldn't run, and when they stepped onto the court, Pat had some Jeff fun. Forty minutes later, look at that score! Amherst took the game that night, 80-54. And Pat had a good night, had a sweet double-double. I'm not sure what Rivier was thinking, were they just looking for trouble? Pat got it done, poured in 24 points. Add in his 14 rebounds, and a Tournament MVP we anoint. And then the Jeffs went on, over Vassar the next day. Thirteen more scores, nine more rebounds on Pat's Saturday play. And so the Jeffs have won the weekend, they took the Wright tourney. And I'm not sure, but I think I saw some Vassar guy being wheeled out on a gurney. The Jeffs will play again this weekend, down I-91 in Springfield. And if I were WNEC I would be careful, 'cuz they're walking in a minefield. So head on down to Bub's, Pat, but watch out for the door; You'll have to duck while walking in, the frame's only 6'4". And remember, you eat free.
