Bubs Player of the Week: Andrew Schiel '05
By Bub’s Sports Staff
He came from Pennsylvania, right on the Main Line. Ruled at Conestoga, but at Amherst would he shine? He traded maroon for purple, but kept the good old white; and in his first year at Amherst, Andrew Schiel's shown us he can fight, fight, fight. Let's go back to Interterm, when none of us had class; It was the last Saturday of break and Andrew introduced himself to Mass. The Jeffs went up against the Jumbos, in good old LeFrak. Andrew came out running and, on that day, Tufts cracked. Schiel stood up for 20 points, now that's not too shabby. And did I mention that was a career high? The rookie sent the Tufts Jumbos home all crabby. Nine points came off from downtown, he's a threat behind the arc. He went seven for 12 total, the Tufts defense was left in the dark. Next the Jeffs faced down Trinity, that was a classic game. Triple overtime, they lost and that's a shame. But Schiel did his part, scored another 22. Broke his own record and turned some more heads, too. So head on down to Bub's, Andrew, and sit down at a table; I'm sure that when your next chance comes, you will be more than able.
