Game of the Week: Men's Basketball vs. Colby College
By Sports Staff
This Saturday, the men's basketball team will take on the White Mules of Colby in what is likely to be the last home game for seniors Mike Proctor, Pat Taverna and Paul Williams. Currently, Amherst and Colby are tied for fifth in the NESCAC with a 3-4 record in conference play. For the Jeffs, it's simple: a win guarantees them a spot in the postseason NESCAC Tournament. Despite winning a share of the Little III crown for the sixth consecutive year, Amherst has struggled this year. Lately, the Jeffs have been cold from the perimeter and have had trouble getting the ball to their star playmaker tri-captain Steve Zieja '03, who recently collected his 1000th career point and 500th career rebound. Things are looking good, though, as Amherst defeated Colby comfortably twice last season.
