Volleyball: Firedogs take a bite out of Lyons
The volleyball team began their season in grand fashion with a dominant win against the Mount Holyoke College Lyons last night. Tuesday's game showed that the team has plenty of depth for another NESCAC Championship run this year.
The Firedogs swept all three games in the match, winning the first game 30-17, the second 30-21 and the final game 30-15. "I think we did a good job for our first match," said co-captain Missy Mordy '03. "Overall it was good intensity. We did the fundamentals."
The Firedogs were led by co-captain outside hitter Erin Dittus '03, who had amatch-high 13 kills. Annie Hoeksma '05 was another a key to the offense adding a match-high 27 assists.
The Firedogs return to action on Thursday against another local rival Smith College.
