Still seething from its NESCAC Championship loss to Williams College, the field hockey team will begin the season with the Purple Cows on their mind. But the team must be sure not to overlook another NESCAC rival, Tufts University, in their first game of the season. Despite a 3-10 record last season, the Jumbos have the potential to fare much better this year. Senior Dana Chivvism, who has 20 career goals to her credit, will lead the Jumbos into western Massachusetts. However, the Jeffs are not without star power of their own. Forward Abby Ouimet '03 had a stellar 2001 season with 12 goals and four assists, which was good for third in the conference. Look for the Jeff defense to step up as well. The defense is led by a strong group of seniors looking to have a stellar final year.
