The women's soccer team went up to Midd last week for a very important game. They'd suffered some tough losses and really needed to uphold their name. Luckily for the team, there's a new girl on the scene. Ashley Harmeling's her name, and she's quite deserving of Bub's acclaim. At Harvard she used to reign, and now their loss has become Amherst's gain. Early into the game against Midd, Ashley made her first scoring bid. Crashing the net on a quick rebound, Harmeling scored a goal quite profound. That wasn't all though, I say; she did even more on that day. After losing their lead 2-1, Amherst's real battle had only just begun. After getting it to a tie, on whom were the Jeffs going to rely? Ashley Harmeling again, that's who-to her a lot of thanks are due. She beat a defender and took a shot late in the match, it went in and victory was Amherst's to snatch. She's now the leading scorer of the crew, and Bub's just wants to give her a big thank you!
