Bub's Player of the Week: Ben Hopkins '03
In the month of January, while many of you stayed at home and enjoyed your holiday spoil, certain Amherst team members were already back, engaging in athletic toil. One of those back to campus earlier than the rest was a diver named Hopkins, one of Amherst's best. a four-year swim team veteran and a captain of the men's squad, Ben is an athlete who certainly deserves Bubs' congratulatory nod. In case you hadn't heard, the Amherst men's swim team is the champion of the Little Three, and this is due to Ben's help to no small degree. In a small hamlet called Williamstown he took first place in both the one and three meter dives, and with wins like that, the Ephs just could not survive. He's recently done the same to secure a win in the Hamilton meet, and it's becoming pretty clear that Hopkins is one who isn't easily beat. Bub's wishes only more success for Ben, and the way we see it; victory arising from his level of talent is only bound to happen again.
