Yesterday, senior tri-captain Steve Zieja was rewarded for his stellar season by being named NESCAC Player of the Year. Amherst's all-time leading scorer was the only Jeff to be named to the first team. Zieja scored 26 points and had 10 rebounds in the Jeffs' impressive victory over Wesleyan University in the NESCAC Tournament semi-finals on Saturday. The next day, Zieja again led the Jeffs in scoring with 23 points in a loss to Williams College.

To no one's surprise, senior diver Ben Hopkins topped the entire field this weekend at the NESCAC Swimming and Diving Championships. Hopkins scored 447.55 points in the finals of the 3-meter competition, narrowly defeating his nearest competitor by only 1 point. For his efforts, Hopkins earned NESCAC Diver of the Meet honors. With Hopkins' contributions, Amherst finished second behind host Williams College in the NESCAC Championship meet.
