Game of the Week: Baseball vs. Wesleyan University
By Jack Greeley, Staff Writer
The baseball team will host Little III-rival Wesleyan University for a doubleheader beginning at noon on Saturday in their first NESCAC West showdown of the season. Amherst will look to improve upon last year's record of 19-15 in hopes of earning a coveted spot in the NESCAC playoffs. The Jeffs compiled a 5-3 record on their season-opening trip to Fort Myers, Fla. and they are fresh off a 24-5 win over Roger Williams University. Amherst is led offensively by junior third baseman Matt Potter, a first-team All-NESCAC selection last year. Wesleyan, which finished tops in the West division last year, stands at 6-4 thus far this season. The Cardinals took it to the Jeffs last year, winning all three games the two teams played.
