The softball team begins the Little III season this week against rival Wesleyan University on Thursday afternoon. Originally scheduled for last weekend, the Jeffs and Cardinals have had an extra week to prepare and are ready after the weather prevented play the original date. First-year pitcher Miya Warner will take the mound for the Jeffs as she has in 11 of the Jeffs' 14 games, posting an impressive 8-3 record. On offense, Laura Trigeiro '06 has compiled a .444 average and has recorded the Jeffs' only home-run of the season. The Cardinals are coached by former Jeff standout Jen Shea '98 who has spent time in the box for Amherst as well. Amherst swept Wesleyan last year and will look to do the same this season as the Jeffs have their sights on their first NESCAC Tournament Championship.
