After dropping its season opener to Western Connecticut State University on Sept. 8, the volleyball team has yet to look back. This Friday the Firedogs' 6-1 record will be put to the test when the squad faces the thus far undefeated Williams College Ephs. Although the Ephs defeated the Jeffs three times last year, with the help of five promising freshmen, the Firedogs' chances for victory are looking strong. Annie Hoeksma '05, and senior co-captains Lauren Wong and Jess Allen should provide the bulk of Amherst's power. Hoeksma, who earned first team All-NESCAC honors and Wong, who was sixth in the NESCAC with 1.14 blocks per game, will likely be assisted in the offensive numbers by Nicole Davidson '05. After battling Williams, the Firedogs will face NESCAC foes Hamilton and Middlebury Colleges.
