Harmeling scored the game-winning lone goal against archrival Williams College Saturday for a final score of 1-0. This victory secured a Little Three crown for Amherst as they had previously crushed Wesleyan University 6-0, a game in which Harmeling scored two goals. With fourteen goals this year, Harmeling currently leads the NESCAC in goals scored. Harmeling and the Jeffs will take on Trinity College this Saturday.
Erin Leydon '05
Leydon gave her best effort in Saturday's crushing 4-3 overtime loss to the Williams College field hockey squad. Leydon kept her team in the game by scoring twice, once to give the Jeffs the lead going into the half, and a second time to send the contest into overtime. While Leydon's contributions were not enough to secure a win, the junior forward managed to double her goals for the season in Saturday's game, while the Jeff squad fell to 9-4 on the season.
