Game of the week: Women's Ice Hockey Hosts Williams
By Nick Michlewicz, Sports Editor
Led by new coach Jim Plumer, women's ice hockey (2-2-0) heads into Saturday's match against Williams College sporting as many NESCAC victories as the Jeffs had all of last season. A revamped Jeff offense, which did not score over three goals all of last season, has twice achieved that feat in 5-1 and 6-4 wins over Trinity and Hamilton Colleges, respectively. Forward Ali White '04 has spearheaded the Amherst attack with three goals and four assists on the young season. Amherst dropped both of its matches against archrival Williams in 2002-03, and will look to avenge those drubbings on Saturday against a 3-2-0 Ephs squad. The contest will be a high-scoring one, as Williams outscored its opponents 14-1 this past weekend, and Amherst's offense has proven to be a potent force.
