Game of the Week: Women's squash vs. Bates College
By Scout Durwood, Sports Editor
The 10th ranked Jeffs square off against the ninth-ranked Bobcats in their second game of the Amherst Invitational this Saturday at 1:00. If the Jeffs win, they will likely receive the top bid for the B flight of the Howe Cup, putting them in a great position to win their flight. Bates finished last season 10th overall in the nation, winning the B flight of the Howe Cup for the second consecutive year. Currently, Bates is 4-3 in the season, having recently come off of a 9-0 loss to Dartmouth College. Don't dismiss Bates too soon, though. The team is sure to prove a worthy competitor, having defeated Cornell University 5-4 earlier in the year. Amherst lost to Cornell 4-5 in one of the closest matches this season. Look for Amherst's top player, Ashley Harmeling '05, to come up big, with co-captain Liz Martin '04 following close behind.
