Junior backup point guard Russell Lee exploded for 27 points in just over 23 minutes in Saturday's 87-78 NESCAC semifinal victory over Trinity College. Coming off the bench in the second half, Lee thrilled the crowd by rattling off 16 points during a 22-7 Amherst run. His shooting sparked the Jeffs to a 70-54 lead which they managed to hold onto in the closing minutes. En route to his career-high 27 points, Amherst's sixth man shot a near-perfect 7-for-8 from the field, went 3-for-4 from three-point range and knocked down 10-of-13 from the charity stripe.
