Brian Donahue '07

Rookie hurler Donahue allowed just two runs in 11 innings of work last week, highlighted by a baffling eight-inning, two-run performance in a win over hard-hitting Bowdoin on Saturday. The rookie allowed just five hits in his third victory of the season, taking a shutout into the ninth in the process. The first-year is undefeated on the season and leads Amherst with a 1.91 ERA, a .194 batting average allowed and 27 strikeouts in 33 innings pitched.

Kristen Raverta '06

In Saturday's tennis match against defending Div. III national champion Emory University, Raverta upset Emory's Jolyn Taylor 7-6, 7-5 to earn the team's sole win in an 8-1 loss. Taylor finished the fall ranked second in the nation. The next day Raverta earned a big win for Amherst at second singles in a tight 5-4 victory over Middlebury. The team will vie for the NESCAC title this weekend.
