Paul Whiting '04

Whiting's two-run home run was the game-winner against Williams last Sunday. Amherst bested the dreaded Ephs by a score of 6-4 to prevent an Eph sweep of the three-game weekend series. The homer was Whiting's second of the season and 10th of his career. In addition to the game-winning blast, Whiting knotted an RBI single in the 5th inning when the Jeffs pieced together four runs to take a 4-3 lead. The win keeps Amherst in contention for a playoff spot.

Cushing Donelan '05

Donelan, the men's lacrosse goalie, was named National Div. III Player of the Week by Inside Lacrosse. He has been putting together a banner season for the Jeffs, leading the NESCAC with a 6.48 goals against average. On Saturday he excelled in Amherst's upset of then-10th-ranked Bowdoin College, holding the Polar Bears to their lowest scoring output since 1980. Donelan tallied 14 saves in the 11-2 victory.
