The men's tennis team won the ECAC North Men's Tennis Championships by the widest margin in the past eight years. Leading the charge for the Jeffs was Babkes, who simply demolished the first-singles flight, winning both of his matches in straight sets after a first-round bye. Babkes was one of only two returning players competing for Amherst.

Alicia Menezes '08

Menezes, the Jeffs' first-year standout, played excellently in Amherst's sweep of Wesleyan over the weekend. Menezes, Amherst's third-ranked singles player, won her first collegiate match easily (8-1) over Wesleyan's Tori Santono. She then paired up with teammate Rachel Holt '05 to defeat Wesleyan's first-ranked doubles team of Tiffany Lo and Ashley Brick.
