Game of the Week: Women's Tennis vs. Williams
By Scott Ganz, Sports Editor
The women's tennis team is in for a battle this weekend against the Williams College Ephs. The match will be a rematch of the 2004 national semifinals, where the Jeffs defeated the Ephs on their way to a runner-up finish at nationals. Amherst is coming off of a weekend sweep of Bowdoin and Colby Colleges in which Amherst simply dominated, winning both matches 8-1. Junior Kristen Raverta, quad-captain Rachel Holt '05 and first-year sensation Alicia Menezes play the one-two-three spots for the Jeffs. Williams, too, is coming off recent success, as the Ephs beat Wesleyan University and Vassar College over the weekend. 2004 All-American Courtney Bartlett and 2004 First-Team All-NESCAC selection Alex Maclennan lead Williams. The match should serve as Amherst's first true in-conference test.
