Tomas Morrissey '08

Morrissey led the men's cross country team to a sixth-place finish at the NESCAC Championships at Colby College this weekend. Morrissey finished 11th overall and was the top first-year runner in the conference, earning him NESCAC Rookie of the Year honors. Morrissey, who ran the 8k course in 25:51, finished just over 30 seconds out of first place. He has compiled an excellent rookie campaign for Amherst, finishing in the men's top three in every meet of the season. He was also Amherst's top finisher at the Little Three Championships on Oct. 23.

Jenny Muller '07

Muller, a sophomore midfielder, scored the winning goal for Amherst in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Williams College. The final Amherst goal of 2004 came in the 69th minute of the match off an assist from senior forward Adrienne Showler. Muller took advantage of her sole shot in the game by burying the ball in the back left corner of the net. It was her third tally of the season, leaving her tied for third in goals on the team. Muller had two shots the next day against Connecticut College but could not convert either into scores as Amherst fell in a 1-0 season-ending shocker.
