It wasn't the best weekend for Amherst sports, we're sorry to say:

nearly all of the fall teams lost on Saturday.

And even though Volleyball fell to those Ephs we despise,

one Firedog to the occasion truly did rise.

Jaclyn DeMais was stellar all weekend long,

and even against Williams her play was quite strong.

She had 20 kills and 20 digs in that match alone;

though she's a rookie she's becoming quite well-known.

On Friday against Midd. 15 kills and 14 digs she tallied,

plus 11 digs against Hamilton as Amherst really rallied.

2-1 on the weekend, Amherst is third in the league-

those relentless 'Dogs show no sign of late-season fatigue.

Amherst faces Bates in postseason play,

Bub's expects DeMais to have another career day.
