Game of the Week: Women's Ice Hockey at Middlebury College
The women's ice hockey team looks to defeat perennial NESCAC powerhouse Middlebury College on Friday. In just three seasons of NESCAC play, Middlebury has already won a NESCAC and a national championship. The 2-1-1 Jeffs hope to upset the 5-0 Panthers, the only team with a better conference record. Amherst is currently ranked second in the NESCAC standings, and there will be a lot at stake in this game. Middlebury has already defeated Bowdoin, Colby and Trinity Colleges and Wesleyan University this season. The Jeffs opened the season with a tie against Trinity before shutting out Wesleyan. The Jeffs lost to Hamilton College on Saturday, but avenged that loss the next day with a come-from-behind win over the Continentals. The Jeffs hope the momentum from that victory will carry over to an Amherst upset on Friday.
